Display images "Sugar Head Pie" is the follow-up release to "Music From Little Big Pink," the debut release from Patches and Gretchen. Minneapolis musician/songwriter Gretchen Seichrist coordinated her first release to coincided with the release of her sister Aimee Mann's album Smilers, which featured the song Medicine Wheel, co-written by Gretchen and Aimee. Songwriter/musician Devin Hill has described Gretchen as "a cross between Patti Smith, Velvet Underground, Big Star's Sister Lovers, and good old-fashioned Gestalt therapy! She sings with a husky, wise voice with the unguarded, private quality of a girl with a hairbrush microphone in her bedroom mirror. She admits she's pretending to be a rock star but knows her songs are offkilter." Gretchen's songs are clever, funny and sophisticated-she isn't just singing her journal out loud. The lyrics are clear, bold and totally unique.
